Shortly after my last post, I got the results for my biopsy. It was positive, alas, so what followed was a rapid series of appointments before and after our trip to Italy. (Because we were not going to be denied this trip**.)

Surgical consult. Pre-surgery physical. The surgery itself. Lots of paperwork filled out before and after. More medical appointments, including a follow-up with the surgeon, an appointment with the medical oncologist, and another with the radiation oncologist.

But right now, between the surgery and the many medical appointments to follow, I have a week with no obligations other than to rest and recover. And if I can get through a day without needing naps, I might be able to squeeze in a writing session or two.

** Photos to come, as soon as we sort through them all.

Thank you! They caught the tumor *very* early, so I'm hopeful I only need to do radiation, and no chemo. I'll find out more next week.

Sending a hug. I'm so sorry it came out positive. Get some rest, enjoy Italy, and come back in fighting form.

Thank you. Italy was amazing, and I'm glad I had a chance to go before the surgery. And the surgery itself wasn't so bad, but it will take me a while to recover, especially with the radiation sessions. (Those start next week.)

Oh my goodness!

I am glad the surgery went well, I am glad you still went to Rome (ROME), and I'm glad you have this week to recover. I hope you rest well, however that looks for you, and that your upcoming appointments bring only good, constructive news & results.

Thank you! Rome was truly awesome, for the food as well as the sights, and the three nights in Venice was the perfect way to cap off the vacation.

The medical appointments will be less awesome. No more surgery at this point, but 4-6 weeks of radiation treatement, plus followup mammograms over the next few months. But better to have the follow-up exams than the alternative!

We had a fabulous time in Italy. I love that the site where Julius Caesar was assasinated is now a cat sanctuary as well as an archeological site. The city makes sure the cats are fed, neutered, and vaccinated.

Gah. I'm sorry I missed this. Italy was scrumptious and awesome, and I am jazzed that the spot where Julius Caesar was assassinated is now a feral cat sanctuary. Recovery is going quite well. I'm halfway through radiation, with no signs of terrible aftereffects. (So far.)

Thank you so much. *hugs*

I took the day off. The morning was eaten up with medical appointments, etc., but I am now treating myself with a writing session and chocolate.
